Freshening My Skin with Derma E

Freshening My Skin with Derma E

I am 45. In less than five months I will be 46. I have been blessed with pretty good skin genes, thanks to my mom. I’ve never been a sun worshiper and thanks to those genes I don’t have too many wrinkles. Just the usual ones around my eyes when I smile, which to be honest, I’m totally fine with. My mom taught me early in life about the importance of daily moisturizer and attention to my skin; I think I was 10 or 11 when that started. As a result, I have been in a great routine for many years without many pivots. I don’t really break out and my skin could be classified as neither oily nor dry, just normal.

HOWEVER.

About six months ago I noticed that my skin was NOT behaving the way it usually did. It never seem particularly moisturized, especially a few hours after my morning moisturizing routine. My coloring seemed quite a bit duller, the circles under my eyes growing a lot darker. I started noticing age spots along the sides of my face and quite a few more fine lines everywhere. WHAT THE HECK? Aging, my friends. It’s called aging. I tried a number of different things, changing up my usual routine for oils, creams and a variety of masks or patches. Most gave me a quick fix but within a week or two it was right back at square one, and sometimes with a very out- of-character blemish or dry peeling skin. SO annoying and unfortunately, nothing was really working. Enter Derma E.

In mid-November I had an opportunity to do a collaboration with a new to me skin care line called Derma E. I told myself I would give myself a solid month of using their Hydrating line and only write about it if I was VERY happy with the products. Well, I’m happy to report that after using everything for over a month now I am really thrilled with the changes I am seeing in my skin. Finally, I am getting the results I have been looking for!

Derma E is one of the largest natural facial care brands in the U.S. All Derma E products are 100% Vegan, GMO-Free, Cruelty-Free and all are made without parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oils, phthalates or sodium lauryl sulfates. YIKES. I don’t know about you, but I definitely don’t want any of those former things in my skin cream, especially when I am trying to improve the overall health and appearance of my skin.

Obsessed with this hydrating day cream!

Within the Derma E Hydrating line I used the Hydrating Day Cream, Hydrating Night Cream, Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Water Eye Gel, the Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Gel Booster and the Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Overnight Facial (my personal favorite of the whole pack). Here’s what I do and when I do it.

I start my day with a pump of the Alkaline Gel Booster, putting that on before any other product, and wait for it to absorb. Then I use the Eye Gel, which is in a cold roller ball and is delicious. This helps to hydrate and balance the moisture under my eyes which is really a problem area for me right now. After I let that sink in, I apply the Hydrating Day Cream and allow that to absorb while I get dressed for the day. This cream is really hydrating and definintely keeps my skin well moisturized for the whole day, I feel like this also plumps up some of those little fine lines that I would like to ease. Once everything has absorbed, I apply my makeup and I’m ready to attack my day!

Much happier skin with Derma E!
This is a must for me every morning

In the evening once I’m out of the shower (yes, I am forever a shower before bed kind of girl), I usually apply the Hydrating Night Cream. I really slather it on so that my skin gets a good drink of moisturizer while I’m sleeping. I’m happy to report that while these creams are very moisturizing they are not heavy and have not caused any breakouts at all. My skin doesn’t feel oily, just really refreshed and hydrated.

One or two nights a week I will treat myself to Ultra Hydrating Alkaline Overnight Facial. You guys. This stuff is THE BEST. The website description explains it best: “This gel facial with Hyaluronic acid and alkaline helps your skin to boost the skin’s natural moisture barrier, re-balance pH levels and nourish the skin while you sleep. The face mask is enriched with Alkaline water beads that melt into the skin, helping you wake up to a well-rested, balanced and radiant looking complexion”. Once I wake up the next morning, I really scrub my face with a washcloth to get the entire mask off and then carry on with my usual morning routine. I really love this overnight facial.

These Derma E products from the Hydrating line contain hyaluronic acid which my skin just loves. It’s really the best thing for both aging skin and restoring some brightness.

I’ve been really happy with the changes to my skin and I attribute these good differences to Derma E. I’m always a little reluctant to jump into a new skin care line but in case I’m one happy customer. Take a look through their entire website and particularly their Hydrating line. Prices are fair and the products will last you for a long time. I finally feel like I have a skin care program that will stay with me for the long haul! Here’s to aging beautifully!
